About the education
In this activity, we visit the Hajdú Zoo animal park in the nearby town of Keszthely daily, where you can encounter such unique animals as the pampas rabbit, the silver fox, the capybara and many more. During the week, we get a glimpse into the daily lives of the zoo’s residents. You will learn how feeding is carried out, how their environment is maintained, and how the daily tasks are organized, while discovering lots of interesting and exciting facts about the animals, their habits, and their needs.
The week begins with getting to know each other, and then each day focuses on a different animal group, exploring their care, needs, and behavior in more detail. During the practical part, you can try your hand as a real animal caretaker and experience how the care of a diverse group of animals is managed, as well as how a full day at the zoo is structured.
The classes are led by the experienced animal caretakers of the zoo, and the small group format allows everyone to actively participate in the actvities — the most skilled participants can even receive extra tasks.
From Monday to Friday, our students travel by minibus every morning to the family zoo, less than 15 minutes from our campsite, where they can take part in an interactive, educational lesson lasting about an hour and a half each day. In the second time period of the morning, an additional class can be chosen (see below), and in the afternoon, there are plenty of games and activities waiting for you at the camp.
