Funside School after school courses at the International School of Budapest

At Funside, we pride ourselves on our very own, gamified curriculum, fully designed in-house, because we are convinced that progress in learning is easier to achieve when you're having fun along the way. Our bilingual (English and Hungarian) IT courses have been updated for the 2024/25 school year: our Robotics & Programming course is for Year 2 to 5 students, available right after regular hours at the International School of Budapest. Classes start in September. For new students: join the first class for free to try (see details below).

    Robotics & programming grades 2-4

We welcome children from grades 2-4 to explore the exciting world of Robotics and Programming. In our 90-minute lessons, we develop their use of IT tools, problem-solving and collaboration skills, teach programming skills as well as the basics and elements of robotics, and place a strong emphasis on internet safety.
During robotics sessions, we build different models using the widely used LEGO WeDo 2.0 educational kit, which are then programmed and brought to life using motors and sensors, and tablet-based applications.
In programming sessions, we use the popular Scratch platform to create projects, animations and games, while learning basic IT concepts.

Robotics & Minecraft programming grades 4-5

Children from grades 4-5 are invited to Funside’s Robotics & Minecraft programming class, where we use the educational version of the popular Minecraft game, starting with a block programming environment using the Python programming language. We explore the world of programming: modifying the known worlds with our own commands, creating new game modes and learning the basics of programming. In addition to Minecraft, the LEGO WeDo robotics education set will help the kids learn the basics of robotics, including how to use motors and sensors and operate models through apps. The sessions will focus on IT education, with a particular emphasis on safe and aware use of the internet and digital tools.

    Prices and deadlines

The classes are held once a week for 90 minutes (teachers will take the children from their classrooms to the classroom where the lessons are held, so parents only need to come to pick up their children at the end of the class that day). The classes are held every week during the school year when there is school (and the school does not prohibit the classes due to school events, school holidays or other activities), the detailed school year calendar will be available here soon.

Tuition fees for the autumn semester are divided into 5 monthly instalments from the end of September to the beginning of February. The spring semester is also divided into 5 monthly instalments from the beginning of February to mid-June. It is possible to pay in one instalment with a half-year loyalty period at a reduced fee. Places are filled on a first come, first served basis!

Paid in one sum, with a semester contract

    19 200 HUF / month

    Semester total: HUF 96 000

You can pay the fall semester fee in one sum of HUF 96 000, making a commitment for the full semester. This equals a course fee of HUF 19 200 per month.

    A semester consists of 5 months and 14 sessions of 90 minutes. Half-year course fee: 5 x 19 200 HUF = 96 000 HUF.
