We had a record turnout on Friday, when over 200 campers, parents and camp counselors gathered at our Budapest venue to celebrate to the end of summer with us.
Over 200 people came to our annual event which marks the end of camp season, with many more following from home thanks to our live Facebook video feed. It was a great opportunity for camp friends to see each other again, and to meet up with their favorite camp leaders once more, before it’s time to go back to school.
Participants had the chance to try several home-made cakes and cookies, entered into our annual Bake Off by campers and their families. There were so many great entries to sample this year, that it was a really tough call. When the votes were cast, last year’s winner, Gabor Kelemen & co came in a close second with their beautiful cake commemorating the Funside Olympics activity from this year’s Balaton camp, only to miss out on the top prize to Lili Gyovai & her family’s equally delicious Funside-themed cupcakes.
After the games, raffles and other fun activities, we were in for a special treat this year: our campers performed their new Funside Balaton anthem titled “F.U.N.” live for the first time since Week 3 of this year’s Funside Balaton camp, when they wrote and performed their song for the first time.
