Robotics Camp: LEGO Spike

LEGO Spike debuts as a new class at Funside Balaton, LEGO’s educational robotics kit.Following the well-established structure of our robotics sessions, each class is divided into two main parts. First, campers work in pairs to build a robot using step-by-step building instructions. Then, they bring their creations to life using the browser-based LEGO Spike programming interface developed by LEGO. After completing the basic model, there is room for free creation: campers further develop and customize their robots based on their own ideas and imagination.

The sessions are project-based, with each class centered around a specific theme or challenge. Campers work together to solve related problems and tasks. The programming interface is block-based, making it easy to understand even for beginners, while still allowing more complex solutions as skills develop. Throughout the camp, we place strong emphasis on teamwork and cooperative skills. Participants work in pairs, divide subtasks, plan solutions, and respond collaboratively to challenges. Campers learn how motors and various sensors function through beginner-level projects, while more experienced participants can take on additional challenges to further expand their knowledge.

Level: No prior experience is required; however, confident reading and writing skills are essential. The programming language used during the sessions is English-based, so a basic understanding of English is recommended.
