About the education
A language really comes alive when you first talk to a native speaker, realizing the magic of being able to speak a foreign tongue. Our Native English Camp is designed for learners who would like to enhance their speaking skills and have already reached a pre-intermediate level. Our teachers in these classes are all native speakers of English, coming from countries like the UK, the US, Australia and more. The camp is international, with kids also representing a number of different countries each year, so you can immediately practice what you have just learnt!
Group work and presentations
At the Funside Balaton English and Native English Camps we work with our own project-based curriculum. During the first three days of each session we cover new material relating to the Theme of the Week through playful and speaking-oriented exercises, then in the second half of the week we start working on a group project, which is then performed by the class in English in front of our other English groups. The group work may be a live play, a short video or a creative work. All presentations are recorded on video, so that you can watch them back after the camp. At the end of the weekly sessions, we provide feedback about your in-class performance, through the teacher’s assessment form.
Class schedule
Native English classes take 2×55-minute lessons each day, Monday through Friday, in small classes (4 to 8 students per class), based on language level and age. If you would like to combine the Native English program with another subject, for instance Windsurfing, then you will have one 110-minute class of English and one 110-minute class of Windsurfing.
Intensive course option
If you want to improve even more during the summer, you can choose to take Native English double (instead of combining it with another class, you can choose to take Native English in both morning time periods), which offers 4×55 minutes per day (equivalent to a 20-hour course). Or, if you choose the long camp, you can progress continuously for 2 weeks (equivalent to a 40-hour course).
Levels and other English language options
The Native English Camp is ideal for levels A2 to B2. Our classes offer a wide range of English language development at all levels: in addition to English and Native English language courses, we provide innovative, experiential learning-based classes that enable you to acquire new skills! Our English Drama, AI Skills, Mindfulness, and Music Production classes are conducted entirely in English at an advanced level. Choose the camp that best suits your level and interests, and grow with us in an inspiring environment!
